AMBASSADOR, RUNNING MAYOR, RUNNING CLUB FOUNDER, RACE DIRECTOR, CHARITY PATRON – AND COMMUNITY ZEALOT
Over the past 15 years, I have run 18 marathons - including one in a very heavy 7-foot beer bottle costume, I’ve swum ultra-marathons, cycled the Prudential 100 Ride London on a heavy tandem, raised well over £100,000 for different charities, and become a Patron of, the blood cancer charity MDS Patient Support Group.
I have set up a huge and thriving community running club – The Bearcat Running Club, been awarded a Richmond Council Community award for sport and charity, won the Prime Minister’s Point of Light Award and been praised by former PM David Cameron for "tireless dedication".
My drive to improve lives through exercise and community spirit is a serious one. The races I’ve directed - Cabbage Patch 10 and Turk’s Head 10K - and The BeaRCat Running Club I founded, go way beyond physical fitness. Through these groups, along with my 1 Mile a Day for 2020 challenge and On The Run - Live, during the Pandemic, I have continuously sought to help those affected by mental illness find confidence and challenged others to be more open-minded and cultivate new friendships - all ages, abilities and disabilities.
I am an ambassador for lululemon and Digme Fitness, and the Running Mayor of West London. I believe in the power of exercise to heal not only the body but the mind. Community is my religion; I am fervent about the power of bringing people together.
I have been a Race Director since 2012 annually (Cabbage Patch 10 2015-2018 and The Turk’s Head 10 2012-present). I am a tutor who runs marathon workshops at my alma mater, St Mary’s University in Twickenham.
